after having the cat that put this box together(should go without saying he knows wtf he's talkin about) look at the error codes and such, it has been determined that the cause of the errors is the memory controller native to the mobo.

solution: get a new mobo.

anyone out there got a spare dual cpu mobo that'll take amd athlon 2000+ they're willing to let go of cheap?

Damn I'm glad I have a freind who fixes my box when it breaks! I got a headache just reading this post. If it doesn't work I let pimpguin (his Unreal Tournament name) fix it.
