YAY! I've gotten everything squared away. They called me and told me they wanted to collect something and i said no, i guess i'll have to call my lawyer...then she just said, well don't worry about it then, we'll have the balance written off and someone will come to install your internet and cable right away. And here I am...my first post from my new apartment...as aliyah would say !YAY ME!

now next week i'm going to be trying to get a new SSN ....that shit is going to suck

It sounds to me more like they were holding you to a residence bill. Is this correct? I know they have laws now in pennsylvania where if a member of the household moves out, they owe a certain percentage of the households bill if left unpaid.
