I told you why I didn't like it, and I am pretty sure there are more people who think that way. In other words, there are people who don't want to change something optional. I, for one, have no intention to change my avatar any time soon.

I was thinking of a few things...
1. A special symbol for you of some kind (a replacement icon, or a bar that goes with "Member or "Moderator" that says "Story Contest Winner")
2. A special avatar (asking a favor of SkriK )
3. A special mention in the News.
That's about all I got.

I would suggest a little round gold medal next to the members status postwise (the little square picture, dwarf, footman, etc). Then when you hold you mouse over it, it's description would be "Story Contest #1 winner".

It's a good idea, but I think Arkidas is already going forward with the "Story Contest Winner" bar, so a medal would be redundant.

I don't have a wife, James, I don't even have a girlfriend (yet), though that is only a matter of time now...
She's only a close friend of mine.

Thanks for the compliment though, but I can't agree, unfortunately. I am doing everything I can to show that I am nothing less than a certain other writer though.

But as for my story... well, I haven't made progress since the weekend. I have been somewhat busy as of late. Well... pretty busy, actually.

Anyway. im working on the story right now i just wanted to know if i had still time to finish it.

its pretty fun already. i dunno if its super good or something but it sure ass hell beats most plots in most books i ever read.

The contest isn't officially started yet, so, yes, you still have time.

The plot only isn't enough, Escurial. Not to mention that it is always quite hard to talk about your own work. People often think their own work is "the best." I have no intention to show 'how good' I might be, I only want to show myself (and someone else) that I am nothing less than that other person. That is my motivation to continue writing.
Fact is that I didn't continue the last few days now because not only didn't I have the time for it, but I don't thik I could make anything new, so...

I'm not acting big. I'm trying to enforce the rules. EDIT: Plus I don't want you guys ruining my beautiful topic
It would be very unlikely that I would go and delete any posts.
As for on topic, I've yet to work on it cause currently I have to write an essay that needs all of my attention...cause my last one sucked and.....well you get the idea.
Basically I'm trying to improve my writing of essays, which will help me in writing this story, so it's all good

Ick, my story isn't going very well, I'm having a hard time getting the plot to work. I can't get the dialog between characters work all that well either as I've been working on my large project for so long that I can't write any other characters. It really sucks as of now and am having a hard time explaining things. Its not writers block because I have a steady flow of ideas, most fit into two categories, they either don't fit into the story or suck, a lot. This means there is huge gaps between when I wrote different parts so the style changes drastically. The first few sentances were written on Wednesday night when I had nothing on my mind and have a very heavy serious feel to them. The next paragraph was written in school on Wednesday so it has a very fantasy feel because I was doing it instead of school work. The most recent part has a huge comedy feel to it because I've been depressed lately and needed something to make me laugh.

Overall this is becoming a huge disaster as the style changes are ruining everything. If I can't get it to work I'm going to scrap it, its really awful in my mind. On a sidenote, the contest starts in my time zone in about 2 and a half hours.
