Its been a while since I did any programming on a computer (other than wc3) but I would like to know If I can have any part in helping make the MMORPG. Do you have any open slots?

Like they say, to many programmers spoil a game. Thing is im the only programmer but the problem is were using Blitz3D and if you were to help I'd have to distribute it to you, which is against the license. Also the whole base coding i have so far is about 1 GB, in which would cause alot of headaches for me. I'd be glad later down the road for help, maybe with something else :)

Sorry for double post, but here is the story for it all.

The Chronicles Of Strife
In The design stage still , is the New Major Project of Claniac3d's

team.

The Chronicles of Strife is a Massively Multiplayer Online Open Role

Playing game , that is focused towards PvP and Guild vs Guild combat.
The Combat system is mixed , but geared toward making combat more

interesting , and to keep players from getting bored just sitting and

clicking 1,2,3,4 over and over. Melee combat in CoS will be

click-and-swing , but Ranged combat and spells will be generally more

like other MMORPG's. Our game engine was purchased , and is about 2

years old , but actually supports some very nice effects and tools

that will greatly increase the look of skins and models including bump

maps , very advanced materials and particle systems ect..
Our textures will be Real Life Based.

The World itself will be on The continent of Karthanis , which is

very large , and on on half are the 6 races in their small cities ,

villages , and fortresses where they have fled from Drakengar, An Evil

Dragon Lord and his Wizards of the Dark Ring.
The 5 races of Karthanis fled from Drakengar , leaving behind

their Great city of Amantius after the Dark Ring had infected the

peoples from within using their dark Magic.

The World is Full of fortresses , and resources such as gold mines ,

copper mines , towns , cities , all capturable for guilds , and

Drakengar's forces. Fortresses and resources are able to be garrisoned

with NPC merc's. The maximum number of merc's depends on the size of

the fortress or resource. All resources generated go into the guilds

vault , stationed in their main fortress , which can also hold guild

items and currency. If a fortress is captured , all the items and

resources that are still in the vault become the property of the new

owners.

The 6 races of Karthanis Include :

-Dark Elves (Fast , good with bows , and fairly good with dark magic.)

-Dwarves (crafting race Only race able to craft)(cannot cast spells)

(Melee Only)

-Light Elves (Fast , good with bows, fairly good with nature magic)

-Humans (decent with bow & sword , medium-fast at running . average

all around)(able to use Dark and Light magic, but not as good as

elves)

-Dark Fairies (hover , extremely good with Dark magic and ranged.)

The sixth Race will remain a secret to all but team members.

Team Members so far Include :
Rokhan :programmer and LD
Shigee :Modeler , animator , texture creator and LD
Werewulf :Modeler , mapper , texture creator , and concept artist
Turdmoe :Modeler , animator and texture creator
Alekill : Iconner

We still need modelers , texture creators , and concept artists ,

joining claniac3d will give you a vast amount of experience and

knoledge, and recognition that no wc3 modeling can give you. To join

, you must be decent at what you do , we will provide most of the

tools , but you must be able to stick with the team for the duration

of the game creation process , because we are working as a very tight

team and cannot have members quiting in the middle of the project.

I'll take a crack at it, I'll pull out the DarkBASIC programming tool of mine to test If i still remember a thing or two from when I used it...I hope I remember at least...

Well I used Dev-C++ to code the engine to work with a MMORPG, since it already had networking capabilities and I just needed to expand them to allow more clients. Though I might have to take a look at that engine since im not to good at networking, and it may turn out to not have online, which would've caused more problems for me.

Blitz3D is a very good engine for me, not to advanced in coding. But perfect for making a MMORPG.

No! I wont trust you, foul beast... :p

And now on-topic: if the choice would Post-Apocalyptic, then it would probably be like Fallout but much more players.

As its medieval it isnt original anymore. :p Though making Fallout online wouldnt be that original either.

Besides, why closing in only 3 basic, non-original themes? Why not to mix few... I always wondered to see something like Arcanum - technic and magic in one world, just a mix of few schemes.
