Baldurs Gate II

That's really a pity they didn't finish these quests, well. I think I'm gonna install Planescape: Torment and try it once again. That would be a challenge, I guess. Tell me about how the UB quest are done when you'll finish them :)

I just started on the Kalah-where-did-he-get-his-power-from-quest. When I finished the original quest, and saved Aerie, I was quickly approached by a little girl who commented on Kalah. She told me that Kalah left the circus during the night some time, and met up with someone. This man gave him a lamp, and told him that he could wish for everything while he carried it (where have I heard this before?). The girl stole the lamp from Kalah and gave it to me (or to Minsc, actually, he butted in on the conversation half way) with the comment on it that it was (probably) "broken" because it doesn't work anymore. The item description friendly told me that "polishing it as much as possible wouldn't have any effect." The little girl told me that I might find this man in the Crooked Cane, in the Gate District. I'm putting this on hold, because I want to get Haer'Dalis and Mazzy first.

Xan, an NPC-mod is installed right now too. I just LOVE~~~ depressed elves. :p
"We're all doomed!"

"I have been captured and all."
"Ah."
Reminds me a bit of myself sometimes. :p

Again he is stealing my lines. "Something bad can happen to everyone... though it happens to me a bit too often for my liking." (It's something I say quite often normally)

Xan looks like a good mage though, and he has some positive feedback of modders. However, I want to take him along, but I already am going to take Imoen with me. Besides that, he has nice stats, though he is extremely low on health (38) with only 8 constitution. He has a nice personal long-sword though, which gives him 50% fire resistence as well. Besides that, it's a mere +3 long sword.
I'll take him along sooner or later though, because of his quest. He announced that he was here for a reason after all. ("It isn't related to your heritage, you know?" "How do you know about my heritage?")

That's why I said it was an NPC-mod. I have a couple of mods installed, one of them being Xan. Unfinished Business is another one. I installed 'Amber' this morning, which is also a very recently released NPC mod, and I must admit that I am starting to like her, except that I am not in need of her class.
Kelsey remains the best one though.

My apologies for double posting, but I had to keep it updated. :p

After restarting my game a couple of times (because of a hesitation of who to take along, and a waste of experience if I took the wrong people), I finally ended up with the party of Minsc, Haer'Dalis (thief/mage again), Nalia and Viconia. Later on, Yoshimo (and therefore Imoen) will take the last spot. It proves to be quite hard without three full classed wariors. Even though Minsc is still one of the best warrior-types in the game, I prefer to have Mazzy or Imoen in the near future. Minsc is taken along because of the mod, Unfinished Business.

I learned the first quest of Unfinished Business by the time I finished the Circus Tent and saved Aerie. I was approached by a young girl that told me about a lamp that is able to summon a genie, and that helped him to all that power. His wish were that he earned respect (which he got successfully) and "the power of an Ogre Mage," which was fulfilled as well. He even gained the appearance of one. Apparently he forgot about the lamp afterwards, because it was stolen by the little girl.
The first owner of the lamp, a Rakshasa decided to give me the last wish (the last of the three). I could pick out of the options of the Limited Wish spell, but also some other spells, which involved summoning "my childhood friend, Imoen," summoning "just Imoen," "Killing Jon Irenicus," "Bringing Kalah back to life," "return Kalah," and "release the genie." All of them had an extra meaning.
Summoning my childhood friend Imoen: He couldn't do that.
Summing just Imoen: He summons a random girl named Imoen.
Kill Jon Irenicus: He can't do that.
Brining back Kalah back to live: Kalah returns and gives you 1000 experience and a reputation point.
Return Kalah: Revives Kalah as an Undead Lich, giving you 1000 experience.
Release the genie: The genie thanks you and leaves, giving you 5000 experience and a reputation point.
All in all, it was a pleasant quest.

The second Unfinished Business quest I found was in the Crypts of the Graveyard District, where the drow is supposed to be located with a load of spiders. Instead of immediately attacking you, she asks for you to return a certain sword to her, which can be located in the Sewers of the Temple District, where a few soldiers is the owner of the blade. One of them is willing to sell them for the choices of 50, 200 and 1000 gold. I decided to give him 200 gold, and he accepted, which made the other soldier protest. "The sword isn't ours, it's the city propery!" "You're right. It isn't ours. It's mine, and now it's sold."
Again, a very pleasant quest, though a bit disappointing. I expected somewhat more. The reward of it was a minor bit of experience and a Wand that can shoot web. Because I don't like entangle-like wands, I quickly sold it for a nice amount of 4,500 gold.

I also learned of Valygar's relationship with Suna-Seni, who was easily found in the Copper Coronet (practically in front of Anomen). She was a little hesitant to talk to me and didn't decide to speak when I offered her a drink. When I mentioned the name Valygar and asked his location, she stutteringly told me to try the Umar Hills, in his cabin, which is empty before talking to her. I haven't visited Valygar yet, but I did meet his ranger friends, one of them dropping some very nice boots.

Xzar's minions (two Ghouls and a Flesh Golem) is one giant challenge now. Because it is one of the first quests I do, (related to the Harpers) it often proves to be extremely hard. The ghouls are either to stun you, while the mages will cast confusion, fear and sometimes another stun. As if that isn't enough, a flesh golem that early in the game is always hard. I didn't notice any other changes.

During the Unseeing Eye quest, I also met four Hell Hounds, which were certainly not the weakest creatures around. It could be because all five characters of mine had a fatigue, but I sure had a hard time hitting them, in opposite of them. They sure hit me easily. And considering only Viconia wearing a shield, they proved to do quite a lot of damage too. It was disappointing that they had the appearance of a Dire Wolf though. They had some nice attacking animations though, which was not related to the dire wolf.

Amber, Saerelith, Kelsey and the other mod NPC's didn't make my team in the end. I quickly learned that Amber didn't have any ToB content - reason enough for not taking her along - and even though Kelsey is a very good NPC (and without exageration, probably the most perfect NPC mod together with Valen, though I don't have her installed) and a very pleasant fellow to have around (and also has ToB content). Even his class (Sorceror) is quite a nice one to have around. But the fact that Nalia is an excellent mage and can use a bow (in opposite of the Sorceror) and sword, I rather have her around. Not to mention that I want to finish ToB a second time first with only Bioware characters, instead of Kelsey. Still, Kelsey is one heck of a great sorceror, and I nearly finished the game (SoA) with him some time ago. Kelsey is a very nice character.
Saerelith, or whatever you spell it, is a very praised character as well with ToB content and if she wasn't such an annoying character (IMO), I'd probably take her with me too. But the fact that she has a failed accent, (they tried old English, but IMO, they failed in it) and a class I'm not that happy with (Paladin), she might just be a decent character. Just like a Kelsey patch, you are able to start dialogs with her out of your own initiave. I still don't like her though, but I might take her along sooner or later. *mumbles* Stupid Thyr*
I still haven't given Xzar a good try though. I'm eager to try out his long sword when Haer'Dalis learned his 'use-all-items' though. :p The 50% fire resistence (further a +3 sword) is attractive. :p
