I still don't believe it is bad luck when a black cat is crossing my path, but I do find it unlucky to break a mirror... though that is better pronounced as: "I find it unfortunate to break a mirror."

Mirrors are quite expensive, after all and I don't have a high income.

If I broke a mirror and wasn't arrested for vandalism, especially when I was caught in the act, then I would believe in luck

I... uh... actually meant a mirror which you own. But yeah, the way you say it makes sense too.
But if you would get caught for vandalism and caught in the act, I'd rather call it bad-luck. Or you must have done something really wrong, like throwing mirrors in a police-station.

I meant if you were caught but not arrested, or more importanlty, you didn't get in trouble at all
