It IS hypocritical to ban one set of derogatory terms and allow another set to go on. By definition, noone can deny that truth. Period. And that's my entire point. If noone can see that and they want to take it as I am crying about something blablabla, then that's fine too.
Apparently someone agreed that they were derogatory remarks though...they downloaded and installed the word filter thing onto the server right? I can't imagine they would do something that drastic over one post I made to Pinkers in a private section of the forums would they?
Having fun is fine. Kicking it and shooting shit on a video game with your friends to escape for a little while is great, but let me say this. If you had a new friend, and you had always done a certain thing, whatever it was. Let's say that it was offensive to your new friend, and they brought up the fact that it was offensive to them...would you keep on doing it or would you take your friend into consideration and stop it, atleast when he/she was around? I would imagine the latter.
Whether you want to admit it or not, fag, faggot, lesbo, etc etc are offensive to some members of society in this world. Covering it up with, "It's how we've always talked" or "We just like to have fun and be goofy" doesn't change the fact that it is offensive to some people.
I speak my mind where I should shutup sometimes...I guess that's my curse in life. Can't please everybody...fuck it why try?
I used "Redneck" as a generalization up in another couple posts and I guess I, myself, was stereotyping by doing so. If it offended anyone, I apologize.
